One Day at a Time

For those who know me I have often said the words "One Day at a Time". Recently I found this poem, but I can not remember where? Anyhow I thought I would share it with you all as it is my feelings for today are 'not so good day for me day'

Whatever the goal we are pursuing,
no matter how rugged the climb,
we're certain to get there,
by trying our best,
and taking one day at a time.
'forever' is hard to imagine,
'the future' may seem far away........
but every new dawn,
brings a wonderful chance,
to do what we can on that day.

Forgotten Verse

Jane Taylor and her sister Ann,
produced many of our best -loved nursery rhymes,
including Twinkle, Twinkle little star.

This verse is one of Jane's less well known compositions.
Morning
by Jane Taylor
(1783-1824)
The lark is up to meet the sun,
The bee is on the wing,
The ant her labour has begun,
The woods with music ring.
Shall birds and bees and ants be wise,
While I, my moments waste?
Oh, let me with the morning rise,
And to my duties haste.
Why should I sleep till beams of morn,
Their light and glory shed?
Immortal beings were not born,
To waste their time in bed.
This one is for the early rises, I must admit I am not an early riser these days. occasionaly though I love to get up early, before sunrise and paint, it is very inspiring and I usually paint my best at this time!
Enjoy! Lyn.

When the Wind Blows

This photo is of my Frangipani Tree, although quite small it produced some lovely flowers.

I thought I would pass on to all you fellow painters a poem that was given to me by one of my students, I am not sure who wrote it;

When the wind blows,

May it never topple your canvas,

May your drips and splatters fall all in the right spots,

May inspiration always be your friend,

And may your work be successful within your lifetime.
